What are the building blocks of emotional well-being, and how do you bounce back faster when you are exposed to the inevitable traumatic stress that you encounter in life?
In this weekly 4 session, 3 hour, in-person psychoeducational workshop you will acquire the tools you need to regain your footing. You will:
-Learn basic trauma first aid skills to regulate yourself & support others;
-Develop an understanding of somatic practices & learn to listen to the language of the body;
-Find out how trauma can disrupt your health, relationships and your sense of connection & belonging to the world;
-Explore practices to manage your stress, and strengthen your nervous & immune systems.
Do your efforts in awareness raising and advocacy sometimes feel like you are pushing a boulder upwards? Are you ever tempted to throw in the towel? Take heart! Whether you worry about the dwindling support & fear mongering threats imposed on the most vulnerable in our society; whether you hold space for those whose stories of hardship should be heard & acted upon at the policy level by an entire community; or you work for mother Nature on the front lines of compassion fatigue and wonder where to find the strength to go on nurturing your love for others and the world. Know that you have a place at this table to rest your heart, voice your feelings, tune into your body, ease your mind, and feed your soul..
This workshop introduces us to the layering within which we grow to understand ourselves as human beings.
We journey through the forces in embryology that have come to shape our physical form, to the experience of being birthed of our parents. We travel through experiences of growing within our family of origin, within the social milieu and the cultural & religious conditioning that has shaped us.
We travel through the alignment of the our chakras to discover the elemental relationships we have to Earth, Water, Fire and Air and more which animates our being. We discover the energetic plumb line that runs through our being and discover the aligned coherence of our minds, hearts & guts.
Have you ever considered place as a relationship? The places you've lived in and left behind have likely made imprints on our existence that we are seldom aware of.
From great ancestral migrations across continents to the shifting city scapes we've wandered through; from natural power places we've known to cross-country relocation or neighborhood moves. These places may still carry lingering ghost memories of unsettled love, glorious sparkling moments of joy, loss or nostalgia, even as we've moved into new phases of our lives. Revisiting those places can help release what no longer serves you, and reclaim the aspects of your experience that contribute to your living in the fullness of your present life now.
The stories you carry may not be just your own. Beyond its individual members, there is a family soul which will not tolerate the exclusion of any its members who have a right to belong. Family secrets can linger as threads of unspoken memories, frozen in time. The fractal shards of your ancestors' unresolved trauma may be etched as patterns down the generations of your family tree, which may continue to play out as creative blocks in your current life. Family Constellations is a powerful therapeutic group experience that can help identify, honor & release the heavy patterns that may be affecting your physical or mental health, blocking your creativity, or continuing to play out as hidden relational dynamics, at work or in your current relationships.
Do you ever feel burnt out, compassion fatigued or simply exhausted by the demands of competing roles? Here, we practice caring for ourselves in balance with how we care for others. We examine the psychology of the social body & discuss the challenges of working within settings whose values constrain our own well-being. We share a meal & good conversation within a supportive and nourishing community. Join us for a 3 month writing immersion program to free the stories that bind you and live the life you long to create. Meet the pulse of your life’s greater story as it blooms open from the inside out, moving through the debris of ghost memories frozen in time, landing you softly on the shores of this present moment that is your life to live now.
Explore the geography of your multidimensional Self, combining creative writing, expressive arts & Awarness Through Movement. We meet in person as a group twice a month for a total of 7 two-hour sessions, as well as invididually for 7 somatic coaching sessions in person or online.
